Garic takes on the Gladiators

Garic, better known for arming its customers with welfare units to battle the elements, is about to assemble a team to take on the gladiators at the Gauntlet Games.

The charity event, which takes place in Manchester in September, will involve ten of Garic’s best sports. They will face a 5k race whilst taking on giant inflatables, slides, foam, swings and water obstacles – as well as real gladiators!

The team’s place in the games has been awarded to them by Bury Hospice, a charity close to company’s heart and for whom Garic has recently signed up to fundraise for the Corporate Challenge event.

Along with 19 other local companies, Garic has been given £50 with which it has to raise as much money as possible in five months. The hospice’s Corporate Challenge encourages the companies to not only raise the most but to do so in creative and different ways. The winning company will be revealed at a black tie awards ceremony in November and will also include special awards for the funniest and most crazy fund raising activities.

Gemma Yates, sales support co-ordinator at Garic said: “Since being given the responsibility of heading up this fund raising initiative I’ve been blown away by the team spirit amongst my colleagues.

“Everybody is really on board to raise as much money as possible for Bury Hospice – and to have the
added challenge of competing in the Gauntlet Games for them is the icing on the cake!
“Like in our everyday roles, we’re very competitive and determined so the hospice can rest assured that we’ll give it our all.”
